Synopsis

Thoughts & Feelings
I was super late to the Proper Scandals series party. When I started reading I was sure that the series was done. I loved each of the books so much that I secretly hoped more stories were coming. Imagine my surprise and excitement when I saw the announcement for A Proper Facade. I audibly gasped and may have literally jumped with excitement.
Then I saw who the story was about Nicholas, the Duke of Harrington. To be honest, Nicholas was not my favorite character and I thought of him as an almost villain. Not because I think he has a wicked heart or anything but he was a complete bum for most of A Proper Charade. He did redeem himself a little bit at the end of that novel...bless his heart. I knew there was hope and that some how, some way Esther was going to turn Nicholas into a loveable character.
My heart fell in love with Nicholas quite quickly in A Proper Facade. He went from being a bum of an older brother to my heart rooting for his happily ever after. I loved getting to know more about him and discovering the "why's" behind his personality and flaws. Man are they GOOD! I won't share anything else because you have to discover all the things for yourself but just know that there is hope for Nicholas and your heart is going to love him.
One of my very favorite things about A Proper Facade is all the cameos we get from our previous couples and characters! I loved getting to peek back into their lives and see how they are doing. It felt like seeing an old friend at the store. When you don't have a ton of time to dive into your life story but just enough time to hit the highlights. Since Nicholas and the unforgettable Patience are siblings we get to see Patience and Anthony quite a bit. The list of eligible young ladies even comes back! Since you know, that list was so successful the first time around. It is truly a fantastic moment.
Since we get to see our beloved past characters so much I do highly recommend rereading, or listening, to the first three books, in this series, before diving into A Proper Facade. Especially A Proper Charade (Patience and Anthony's story). You can dive straight into A Proper Facade without being lost, but you might miss some seriously hilarious and maddening moments if you haven't read the others for a while. I listened to all of the books (they're amazing) before reading A Proper Facade and I am so glad I did!
Which leads me to my next point MISS MORGAN! Y'all I can't say much but just know you are in for a treat. The sheer audacity of this lady and her mother just makes my blood boil! When the pieces all connected in my brain I sat up, gasped, and possibly yelled "NO! HOW DARE SHE!" And the gasps and yelling didn't stop there. So, when you reach those chapters and all the pieces click together feel free to reach out to me because I am still dying to talk about it! I don't think I will ever truly get over it.
I cannot end this review without mentioning our magnificent leading lady, Mercy. She is a force of nature and I love her wild spirit and dependable personality. I love how unique of a character she is. A lady of the ton who loves attending balls and dancing. One who is in high demand...perhaps a diamond of society. Despite all of that Mercy is a genuinely kind and loving person. Someone we would all want as a friend. Do you want to know the best part? She's not even looking for a suitor! It makes this story so magnificent and leads to many funny moments. I giggled so many times and even had to put my book down until I could compose myself.
I cannot say enough about the entire Proper Scandals series or A Proper Facade. They are truly amazing and are books that I will revisit many times.
